What We Notarize

Notarial and commissioning services with clear guidance.

A Commissioner of Oaths may administer an oath or affirmation and take a declaration for documents that require commissioning. A Notary Public may perform notarial acts such as notarization where that is specifically required. The right service depends on the document and the organization receiving it. Bring valid government-issued identification and do not sign the document in advance unless the receiving organization instructs otherwise.

01

Affidavits

An affidavit is a written statement that is sworn or affirmed before a person authorized to take it. Affidavits are commonly used in court, tribunal, government, and other formal processes. We confirm the signer’s identity, administer the oath or affirmation, and complete the commissioning process for a prepared document.

02

Statutory Declarations

A statutory declaration is a formal statement made by a person who declares that the contents are true. It may be required for government, immigration, education, employment, or administrative purposes. We commission statutory declarations when the form and circumstances are appropriate for commissioning.

03

Travel Consent Letters

A travel consent letter may be used when a child is travelling with one parent, a relative, or another adult. Airline, border, and destination-country requirements can vary. We can notarize or commission a prepared travel consent letter when the receiving organization requires or requests it, helping ensure the signer’s execution is handled correctly.

04

Invitation Letters

An invitation letter may support a visitor visa or other travel application by explaining the host’s invitation and relevant circumstances. Notarization or commissioning does not determine the outcome of an immigration application, but we can notarize or commission a prepared letter when a receiving authority or applicant requires it.

05

Vaccination Exemption Letters

Where an applicable form or process requires a sworn statement or statutory declaration relating to an exemption, we can review the document to determine whether it can be commissioned. The signer remains responsible for the truth and completeness of the information provided and for confirming the requirements of the receiving organization.

Dr. Vosooghi is both a Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths. We help clients in Richmond Hill, North York, Toronto, and across the GTA identify whether their prepared document needs commissioning or notarization. Bilingual support is available in English and Persian.

Wait to Sign

Do not sign a document that must be sworn, affirmed, or witnessed in front of the Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths unless you have been instructed otherwise by the receiving organization.

Confirm What Is Required

Ask the receiving organization whether it needs a notarization, a commissioned oath or declaration, a certified copy, authentication, or another form of verification. Requirements can differ by document and jurisdiction.
